Orangery Phase 1
One of the first large scale projects of the VBL Group. Orangery Phase 1 was a dilapidated building at the lower end of Valletta, which was being utilized as a lodging house, commonly known in Malta as ‘Kerrejja’. The brief given to architect Simon Grech of Grech and Vinci Architects for this project was to create a modern and functional block of apartments suitable for short let while also for living more long term. This block of apartments is probably the first fully owned block in Valletta to be converted comprehensively from the front doorstep to the roof. The end result was an amazing block of 9 apartments comprising of 3, one-bedroom apartments, 5, two-bedroom apartments and a beautiful penthouse with breath-taking 360-degree views topping the building, all served with a communal lift. Eight out of the nine apartments were sold with several entrusting further management with the VBL Group through its hospitality subsidiary, VREM.
