The VBL Group continues to be a committed supporter of the annual Valletta Concours D’Elegance, presenting a selection of the finest historic and collector cars from around the world
The Group has been sponsoring the “VBL – Spirit of Valletta Award” for a number of years, an award which was created to capture the pure essence of Valletta reflecting the heritage and culture which flows through the streets of Valletta daily.
This year, the “VBL – Spirit of Valletta Award”, was awarded by a competent jury, co-chaired by Mr. Tony Zahra & Mr Julian Tzvetkov, both renowned car enthusiasts and strong advocates for the enhancement of Valletta and resurgence of the City back to its former glory.
“VBL – Spirit of Valletta Award 2024” was awarded to Mr. Massimo Magro the owner of the stunningly restored MG TA originally built in 1937, a car which started life in Liverpool England but reached our shores some years later. One can easily imagine this beauty zipping through the streets of Valletta and with its narrow body even managing to zoom down Strait Street. The Executive Chairman of VBL Plc, Dr Geza Szephalmi noted that “this is a stunning piece of automotive history, which whole heartily represents the ever constant values and cultural heritage for which the VBL Group stands for and is determined to promote through its various business activities within the walls of Valletta.
As tradition stands, the VBL Group welcomed its Shareholders, Suppliers, Employees, and Stakeholders to its prosecco stand; this year themed as a traditional red Maltese Balcony, the traditional signature element of all VBL’s regenerated projects in Valletta, where its guests could enjoy the event whist enjoying a glass of bubbly.
